Looks great, but maybe more for fun/wilfing than taking a decision about a product/travel/software/I mean serious stuff taht people spend money for.
But I definitely like the fact to have a table-wikipedia that I can sort and filter, with an awesome compare feature.

However, you didn't really answer the "quality vs. growth vs. revenue vs. scale" question... which brings two obivous direct questions to me :
- If you let users edit the content, how to manage moderation on such a sensible subject as comparing products? Or even ski resorts?
- If you don't use affiliate programs, how to you plan to earn money...?

We don't use the views module at all. Although we do use Drupal for it's framework, all of the presentation is done with our own developed modules.

What is best is subjective.... best is a perception not an absolute. That perception is socially biased and influenced. If you could add a social dimension to your algorithm you would have something more unique and more relevant to consumers.

You are absolutely right. Scoring is complicated but holds a lot of promise. We're making some improvements as I write.

Thanks for the input. It's a real, but interesting, challenge to be able to present comparative data in a simple but powerful way. I think we've made some huge improvements with the new UI but still have a ways to go...

I responded earlier but message wasn't posted....click on the technology nav bar, "show all" - you'll find a lot of consumer electronic comparisons including smartphones, tablets, ereaders, laptops, 3D TVs, and many more. Not sure where or how you're seeing "eco-spam" but could be a bug. Please post more details - thanks.

*Pros:
I like the layout of getting the information, its clean and concise, no bullshit. Good colors, i like the types of info too. The site gives me a "Kid feeling" so i don't think it would be a bad idea to add more colors. The only thing that caught my attention on the site was the Video Area,Large Bold Words, Logos and main navigation but sections like Top Apps : Top Comparisons,etc should have a different color or Font.

*Cons:
the Home page isn't to Idiot-Proof ( Yeah that's me!), the internet and life in general moves so fast that i think it would be better to "throw me at the information" so making the Search Area more identifiable and in my face would help me get to the point. I didn't take the time to watch the video, i think making an animation table or something that forcefully shows me "How to Use" would be great.

*Conclusion:
Its a great idea. Ill be using it and can see it getting better and bigger. A lot of people like me have that "2 second patience" so i think dumbing down the home page would be better. To many sites i go to have to much shit on the first page that it just makes me leave. Remember to make this a pain killer and not a utility, I'm tired of these utility websites (Tumblr? nice idea but i can find porn another way without the sign up hassle) popping up everyday, make this into something ill need like Google so it can be bigger then Google.

The internet is changing and i need info that's simple and EXTREMELY easy to find ASAP. Their may be "thousands of other sites like yours" but if I'm not using it then its not doing its job. Your sites doing its job the right way when I'm using it because I NEED IT. I have plenty of more to say but i think you get the idea!

Salaries filtered by job and state is a ridiculous mishmash with nothing close to a full spectrum of jobs and salaries included (try SF and NYC). Makes no sense.

Findthebest is only as good as it's scoring algorithms. just have a hunch that more work is needed with this.

FYI: The sport's name correctly is ultimate, not ultimate frisbee. :) The name frisbee is copyrighted and can't be used here, e.g. the "frisbee" they're using is called "the flying disk".

I just clicked on "3DTV" on your front page, http://3-d-televisions.find... . The tables show e.g. $4,999, but the control panel on the left is all showing things like $1 100 and $44,99
